Lots of People Helped Make Holidays a Little Brighter
Lots of People Helped Make Holidays a Little Brighter

Editor,

On behalf of the Good Times Motorcycle Group, I would like to this to thank all the places of business and people who helped us raise more than $1,700 for KSBW channel 8 “Share Your Holidays.”

The Hollister Elks Lodge donated $565. Thanks to my brother-in-law Tim Pereira and the rest of the Elks Lodge. A special thanks goes out to Nancy Serrano and the Rogers Seed Company for their donation of $525.

The following places of business around the town allowed me to place containers in their shops to collect donations from their customers: Corbins Wizard Cafe, Faultline Powersports, Hollister Motorsports, Bills Bullpen, Righetti’s Liquor Store, Lynn’s Liquor Store, Java Bagel and Coffee Shop, PostNet and Don Castro’s Racers Edge in Tres Pinos. And thanks to the customers and employees of Jerry’s Restaurant who always put something in the bucket every time I went in for coffee.

The Good Times Motorcycle Group bought tickets for our raffle and made donations. Big Bad Bob Picha and Anthony Freitas helped out by selling raffle tickets.

All donations went to the Salvation Army and all donations stay here locally.

Again thanks to everyone for their support as we could not have done this without each and every one of you. I hope I did not forget to mention anyone.

Hopefully we can do it again next year, and get more people and organizations involved.

Emmaus House Residents Appreciate Generosity

Editor,

On behalf of Emmaus House, I would like to thank the community businesses and individual contributors that provided a joyous holiday for our clients and their children at Emmaus House.

The women and children had a wonderful time opening the presents that were so graciously donated.

The children were able to once again enjoy the excitement of the holiday season, especially knowing some of the presents were from “Mom.”

Thanks to the donations of cash and gift cards, the mothers were able to go shopping for their children and provide their own love and happiness during their time of transition, and the single ladies were not forgotten either.

Local schoolchildren built a wonderful gingerbread village that looked great next to our donated trees.

Various organizations, local groups and generous individuals provided food, presents and decorations that truly reflected the spirit of the holidays.

The board, management and staff of Emmaus House thank everyone so much for making our holidays special.

May your generosity in 2006 bring you good fortune in 2007.

Dale A. Yarmuth

Executive Director, Emmaus House
