Hollister rally police officers cited two downtown businesses on suspicion of allowing patrons to pour drinks on their premises during the weekend motorcycle event, according to a statement from Hollister police.
According to the statement:
On July 2, 2016 at about 8 p.m., Hollister Rally Officers issued citations to the managers of Pacheco Liquors (801 San Benito St.) and Jessie’s Liquor Store/Gas Station (710 San Benito St.) for exceeding their liquor license privileges.
Undercover Alcohol Beverage Control Agents witnessed employees at Pacheco Liquor Store selling empty ICEE cups for a $1 to help the customers avoid the Hollister Rally events policy of no open alcohol containers. The patrons were allowed to open their alcoholic beverages in the business and pour the contents into the cups. The patrons then left the business with the alcohol beverages in the ICEE cups.
The manager of Jessie’s Liquor Store was witnessed giving brown paper bags to place alcoholic beverages into. The patrons were allowed to open the alcoholic beverages and drink on the premises, just outside the front door of the business.
Once the violations were observed and documented Hollister Rally Police Officers arrived on scene and issued citations for violation of section 23300 of the Business & Professions Code to both businesses.
