year’s motorcycle event to local non-profit organizations.

The Hollister Independence Rally Committee and The Rotary Club of Hollister recently awarded checks from money raised by this year’s motorcycle event to local non-profit organizations.
The $37,000 awarded this year brings to $140,000 the amount raised from the rally, the monthly Harley & Hot Rods Show & Shines and profits from the beer garden run by the Rotary Club.

All seventh and eighth grade home schooling students and students attending public or private schools that are not participating in the VFW Patriots Pen essay contest may enter by picking up entry forms and information sheets at the office of the County Superintendent of Schools, 460 Fifth St., Hollister. Hollister VFW post 9242 will award three $200 prizes for this contest. Deadline is Nov 29. Typed/computer printed essays must address the theme “My Pledge to America.”
