Editor,

Thank you for printing my letter regarding the questionable actions taken by the District Attorney, John Sarsfield, recently, (May 17). I stated that Paul Greer had signed the original recall petition. I was in error and need to acknowledge my mistake. I misinterpreted information given to me.

But, the other three incidents I mentioned can be found in the public record and are blatant examples of Sarsfield’s bad side. There may be cases that he has prosecuted appropriately, but he sure seems to go out of his way to find charges against those who he dislikes. It is not fair.

I strongly encourage the citizens of this county to sign the current recall petition. Many signatures have been obtained, and it has never been a secret that some of the people collecting signatures are being paid.

Unfortunately, many citizens have expressed concern and fear if their name is associated with the recall. This is exactly why they should sign! We should not be afraid of our elected officials. If they instill fear in the public, they are in the wrong profession. John Sarsfield does not deserve to be the DA. We can’t wait until next year for an election. Recall Sarsfield now.
