Editor,
I am writing to you is because I strongly agree with your article about the high school exit exams and that students should not be allowed to get a certificate and walk at the graduation ceremony if they do not pass the exam. Only the students who actually earn their diploma should be able to get one. The students who have slacked off during their four years of high school and haven’t learned anything should not get a diploma, which is a certificate of completion.
From my point of view, after taking the exit exam, I found it very easy to pass and would assume it wouldn’t be too difficult for anyone who has grasped the slightest bit of knowledge during high school. I think the exam shows how much you have actually learned in your four-year experience and whether you are ready to move on in the next chapter of your life. Students who have received a diploma have successfully completed high school and have earned every bit of it.
