Hollister Police are looking for a suspect who repeatedly stabbed a Hollister resident in his home Monday.

Robert Bravo, 26, entered the residence at 1321 Monica Court around noon, said Hollister Police Detective Tony Lamonica.

Bravo, who knew the 19-year-old victim, asked to use the bathroom and the victim voluntarily let him in the house, according to a witness, Lamonica said.

After walking down the hallway he turned around, approached the victim from behind and began stabbing him, Lamonica said.

After stabbing him several times in the abdominal area, Bravo shut the door and locked it, Lamonica said.

“The witness ran down the street to get a buddy of his to help…” Lamonica said. “During that time, Bravo stabbed the victim several more times. He was on a mission.”

After the stabbing Bravo walked out the front door, past the witnesses who were coming back to the house to try to help the victim, got into a green Honda and drove away, Lamonica said.

Bravo is described as being a white male, 5’8″ to 5’9″ tall, weighing about 300 pounds and has curly brown hair. He was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap, a blue long-sleeve shirt over a white shirt and blue jeans, according to police.

Bravo knew the victim and lives several blocks from the victim’s residence on Monica Court, police said.

Police have not located the weapon, but warn that Bravo is considered armed and dangerous.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Hazel Hawkins Hospital and then life-flighted to an undisclosed hospital in San Jose, where he is currently but stable, Lamonica said.

“I think it (punctured) his heart and liver,” he said. “He’s in pretty bad shape.”

Police do not know why the stabbing occurred, but there are no indications that it was gang-related, Lamonica said.

The victim, who lives with his mother and brother at the residence, will be interviewed by police when he is able to talk, Lamonica said.

Anyone with information on Bravo’s whereabouts is urged to contact Detective Tony Lamonica at (831) 638-4115 at the Hollister Police Department.
