Hollister has some residents who have gone all out in their outside decorations, from giant inflatable snowmen to thousands of twinkling lights winking from roof tops.
One of the most spectacular streets, where almost every house shines like a beacon in the chilly night, is Severinsen Street.
White icicle lights or strings of vibrant reds and greens outline roofs, while bright nets cover bushes large and small.
An entire manger scene plays out on the front of one house, while Mr. and Mrs. Claus await guests at the front door. Across from the baby Jesus and his parents are a jolly Santa and Mrs. Claus with their eight reindeer, ready to jet off to deliver presents to good little girls and boys at a moment’s notice.
Traveling down Severinsen to Velado Street the light brigade marches on, through Majestic, Serene, Regal and Nora Nora Drives.
To get to these groupings of brightly shining houses travel to Cushman Street down Eastview Drive.
Houses on and around Westward Street don’t disappoint with countless reindeer, lighted bulbous ornaments hanging from trees and valance-strung lights draping the roofs.
In and around Westward, many residents decorated their homes on Clearview Drive, Alta Vista Way and Rainbow Drive, where the residents seemed to decorate their houses according to the street name.
To find these brightly colored abodes travel to Sunset Drive, past Valley View Road.
Off of Meridian Street, La Baig Estates seems to be home to families of inflatable snowmen and Santas, with many residents in the housing complex putting up some type of Christmas spirit.
The houses are trimmed in white, blue, red and green, with one house’s giant multicolored Christmas tree standing majestically for all to admire.
La Baig Estates can be traversed by going to Meridian and Monte Carlo Drive.
Going out towards Ridgemark Golf and Country Club on Airline Highway is Quail Ridge Way, which is home to housing complexes Quail Hollow and Oak Ridge.
Animated choo-choo trains light up lawns, bright green and white electric Christmas trees are almost blinding in their brilliance, and resident’s Christmas trees framed by living room windows stand regally over it all.
These houses aren’t the only spectacular sights around Hollister, but for the families who’s traditions are swathed in illuminating sights, it’s at least a start in the Christmas tour of lights.
