Dear Editor:
I am not pleased by everything Gov. Schwarzenegger has done, but if the opposition majority party gets upset over the use of the term “girlie-men” to describe them, so be it. I can think of a lot of things worse.
John Burton and the Democrats just used the taunt as an excuse to quit working on the budget. The budget is also tied up, I believe, over reforming Fabian Nunez’s legislation, which he sponsored a few years ago to stop school districts from contracting out their non-credentialed jobs. This, of course, occurred on Gov. Davis’s watch, along with the horrendous give-a-way to the prison unions.
With many school districts in dire financial condition, why would the state presume to dictate their labor practices? As far as the prison union problem, there is a very real possibility that a federal judge will take over control of the department of corrections. California’s continuing problems result from corruption by the Democrats and Gov. Davis. Don’t blame Schwarzenegger.
