Audition for ‘Spamalot’

HOLLISTER – The San Benito Stage Company is holding auditions for “Spamalot,” a musical comedy, on Dec. 6 and 7, with check in at 6 p.m. and auditions to start promptly at 6:30 p.m., and Dec. 8 with check in at 9:30 a.m. and auditions to start at 10 a.m. at the Granada Theater, 336 Fifth St., Hollister. The show is open to ages 18 and up. The cast needs include a minimum of 13 men and eight women. Bring sheet music or music-only CDs. Be prepared for a cold reading. CAC meets

HOLLISTER – The Community Advisory Committee, a support group for parents of special needs children, will meet Dec. 3, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., at the Hollister School District, 2690 Cienega Road, in Hollister. SBC math talks

HOLLISTER – The San Benito County Office of Education will host a San Benito County Math Talks lecture Dec. 4, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the Office of Education, 460 Fifth St. Pallavi Shah teaches math to middle school students and her specialty is coaching students for local and national math competitions. Retired teachers meeting

HOLLISTER – The San Benito County Chapter of California Retired Teachers will hold its next business meeting Dec. 5, at 10:30 a.m. at San Juan Oaks. Members are asked to bring canned food and non-perishable items for the community pantry. There will be a raffle and a book sale. A buffet lunch will follow the meeting.

Emmaus House Coat and toy run

HOLLISTER – The Ride to End Violence Against Women and Children will be Dec. 9, with a check in time between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., at the Target parking lot, 1790 Airline Hwy. The ride will end at 2020 Santa Ana road, in Hollister. The fee to join the ride is a woman’s or child’s coat or a toy. Lunch is $10 for a single rider or $15 for double riders. Nominations still open for paint job

Homeowners or local residents who would like to nominate a friend, neighbor or family member’s home still have time to get their nominations into Hollister Paint Co. to vie for a fresh paint of coat before the December holidays. Lance Goularte, of Hollister Paint, has asked those making a nomination to submit a photographer and a short paragraph about why the homeowner is deserving to receive a free exterior coat of paint for their home. Owners should include an address, phone number, photo and short written statement about the home, but leave their names off to keep the selection anonymous. Weekly book sale

HOLLISTER – Friends of the San Benito County Free Library holds weekly book sales on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon, behind the library and the Historical Museum at West and Fifth streets, Hollister. (Enter from West Street.) Book donations can be delivered to the book sales or at the library, 470 Fifth St., in the two gray book bins in the lobby Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 8 p.m.
