Hollister trustees talk new school site, expansions
Hollister School District Superintendent Gary McIntire has asked trustees to consider expanding the Hollister Dual Language Academy to include seventh and eighth grade classes and to possibly replace Gabilan Hills as the area’s neighborhood school.
Boy Scouts official responds to Alvarado arrest
A regional Boy Scouts of America official released a statement and then responded in an interview following the arrest of Joseph Alvarado, a Hollister emergency medical services specialist booked on suspicion of sexually assaulting two teenage boys between 2002 and 2005.

The Charity Aid Foundation recently released their fifth annual World Giving Index, which measures more than 135 countries according to the percentages of people that donate their time and/or money to charitable causes. The United States ranked #1 (tied with Myanmar) as the most charitable country in the world. Couple that with the fact that December 2nd was Giving Tuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back, and it seems to be the right time to discuss the best way to give to the charities and causes that you believe in before the year rings out.

Updated: School in session despite rain, except at Southside
For most students at schools in Hollister, San Juan Bautista and Aromas, it’s classes as usual despite the rain. At Southside School, however, classes are canceled for Friday.
