Group gives Cannella perfect score despite imperfect voting record
Sen. Anthony Cannella, R-Ceres, received a perfect score from the small business association National Federation of Independent Businesses in California for his voting record in 2013, according to a release from the senator’s office. That came despite Cannella voting on just five of nine matters under consideration by the group.
Cornerstone Title celebrates ribbon cutting
A ribbon cutting was held March 4 at Cornerstone Title Company, 870 Tennant Station in Morgan Hill. In attendance were members of Cornerstone Title Company, Chamber of Commerce ambassadors and staff and Marilyn Liebers, Mayor Pro Tem. With courthouse open, county accepts $100K for new bailiffs
While the courthouse finally opened for business Monday, county supervisors on Tuesday agreed to accept the local court agency’s one-time contribution of $100,000 for extra security personnel needed at the new facility.
AAUW Wildflower 5K/10K, Stroller 5K, and 2K Kid’s run
On Sunday, April 13, the 31st Annual AAUW Wildflower 5K/10K and 5K Stroller Category and 2K kid’s race will be held at Live Oak High School, 1505 E. Main Ave., Morgan Hill, CA. Check in and day-of-race registration starts at 7:30 AM. The 2K Kid’s run starts at 8:30 AM on the high school track. All 2K runners receive a medal. The 10K run starts at 9:00 AM, and the 5K run/walk/Stroller take off at 9:15 AM. T-shirts—best selection for early registrants—Medals for top three places in Men’s and Women’s age divisions. Stroller division also includes a toddler-sized T-shirt for the stroller participant. They will also receive medals for the top three, men and women, there are no age divisions.
