Former RDA loans up for restructuring
The Hollister Redevelopment Successor Agency – or city council – has recommend to its oversight board representing local taxing entities that they restructure loans made by the former Hollister RDA to the Honda Powerhouse and Cain/Renz property at 102 San Benito St.
Hollister RDA dissolution allocated $12.7M to taxing entites
As of late July, the Hollister Redevelopment Agency Successor Agency – or the city – had distributed a total of $12.7 million to taxing entities as a result of the RDA’s dissolution.

Police have identified the victim in Thursday's homicide as Andres Guzman, 19, of Hollister.
Local residents Villalon, Scattini touted for creating peace

New endowment focuses on Latino needs in county
The Community Foundation for San Benito County launched a new endowment July 20 that is focused on serving the local Latino community. The Latino Generations Endowment is the focus of the Latino Advisory Committee, a charter of the Community Foundation.
Student earns scholarship from American Legion
The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 69 presented Christina Muirhead with a $1,000 scholarship to use toward her studies at Cabrillo College in the fall. The Anzar High School graduate was honored July 18 at San Benito's American Legion Auxiliary meeting at the Veterans Memorial Building.
SVIC will give up mosque permit in order to ‘move the project forward more quickly’
In order to avoid a drawn-out legal battle that could delay the construction of the Cordoba Center mosque and community center in San Martin, the South Valley Islamic Community plans to withdraw its use permit for the project’s chosen site.
San Benito County 4-H teens lead the way
The San Benito County 4-H program has been known for many of the opportunities it provides for today's youth. These include showing animals at the fair, participating in different projects and especially helping youth develop their leadership skills. 4-H has been helping to create the leaders of tomorrow for generations and continues to do so today by sending “4-Hers” to leadership conferences.
