Early Days: The San Juan State Historic Park will host an early days event June 15, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., in San Juan Bautista. The activities will feature docent dressed in period costumes, crafts and cooking demonstrations. Hollister recreation’s use of school facilities in limbo

It looks as though the relatively new Hollister school board doesn’t have much patience for a long-held partnership with the city involving the rental of facilities for recreation programs. And it appears that trustees are concerned about a range of “little issues” that have accumulated through the years rather than one primary concern, according to the school board president.

Ambitious regional park plan tops out at $40 million

The plan for a county regional park – put together based on input gathered from the community since 2012 – comes with a $37 million to $40 million price tag that would include all the amenities desired by residents and members of an advisory committee.
