San Benito County Supervisor Anthony Botelho recently shot and injured a neighbor’s two pit bulls using a shotgun outside his home after they had attacked his own dog.

4-H Pancake breakfast: San Benito County 4-H will host a pancake breakfast April 21, from 7 a.m. to noon at Bolado Park. The meal is $5 per person and includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, potatoes, milk and juice. The annual breakfast is hosted by all the 4-H groups in the county and will benefit programs. The Bureau of Land Management is looking for residents to serve on the advisory council for public land issues.

Police are looking for a suspect who stole a loaded handgun and ATM card, and the man was later photographed on surveillance while trying to use the card, according to the Hollister Police Department.

Hollister council members Monday night approved the launch of a city newsletter – a quarterly publication put together by planning department staff members estimated to cost $5,000 for each edition’s design, printing and distribution.

David J. Quiroz, the Hollister man accused in the killing of 25-year-old Heather Carroll in October, is scheduled for a preliminary setting Thursday, according to court records.
