Officers respond to 3 shootings Wednesday

The Hollister Police Department and San Benito County Sheriff’s Department officers responded to multiple shootings Wednesday and are still investigating the incidents.

Downtown Hollister cleanup: The Hollister Downtown Association is teaming up with Girl Scouts and Recology for a Downtown Fall Clean-up Saturday, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. The group will meet at the corner of Fourth and San Benito streets. Many counties and cities throughout the nation organize community events to honor those lost in the terrorist attacks 11 years ago on Sept. 11. At the very least, citizens have come to expect their local government institutions to lower American flags to half-staff.  

Run for the Stink’n Roses Race

The  Run for the Stink'n Roses 5/10K race will be held on Sunday, Sept. 30 at Solarsano Middle School in Gilroy. The cross country team from Christopher High School is staging this year's race having taken it over from South Valley Running Club.

POTW: Timmy

Timmy is a Chihuahua mix puppy who is sweet, doesn't bark and loves to run and play with toys. He is also good with other dogs.
