The largest public utility company in the nation is now a partner in the Panoche Valley solar project as part of a move that should add construction clout for the venture expected to break ground sometime in 2014.

Wag’n’Walk a huge success

Pet Friends recently held their fourth annual Wag'n'Walk event at the Graniterock Southside quarry. Despite the forecast of near 100 degree temperatures, the enthusiastic participants showed up to make it another successful event. Thanks to the Graniterock volunteers, the course and registration booths were ready to go when the Friends of Pet Friends volunteers showed up at 7:30 am. With over 60 on-line pre-registrations, and a flood of same-day registrations, it looked to be another well-attended event to benefit the cats and dogs at Pet Friends.

Police to deploy new radar trailer for speed-limit changes

The Hollister Police Department will be deploying their new radar trailer in an effort to educate the public regarding speed limits changes and reduce the number of unsafe drivers throughout the city, according to an announcement from the HPD.

Accident on Hwy. 156 and 25 slows commute

An accident at the intersection of Hwy. 156 and Hwy. 25 slowed traffic this morning when a black Ford explorer collided with a white pick up truck, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
