Flores retiring from county HHS post

The San Benito County supervisors this week offered direction to County Administrative Officer Rich Inman on how they would like to proceed with filling the county’s Health and Human Services Agency when current director Kathy Flores retires May 4 after 26 years on the job.

Red Phone: Union Road reflectors aren’t reflecting much

A resident called the Red Phone this week to complain about areas on Union Road between San Benito Street and Highway 156 where the reflectors don't seem to be working all that well. He noted that there had been some paving done to the roads and said some of the reflectors don't do much reflecting these days.

A 41-year-old man who had been sought for being with a 14-year-old runaway girl from Hollister is now in custody, according to a police captain.
