The Hollister Fire Department responded to a structure fire Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of Sunset and Memorial drives.

With the end of a Calfire contract to provide fire service to San Benito County looming in June, at least one county supervisor Tuesday pushed to move forward quickly with a contract with the City of Hollister while others asked for more of a cost/benefit analysis before making a decision.

This male Ruddy Duck was rescued January 6th with rubber bands cruelly attached between its head and beak, so tight that it wasn't able to open its beak or eat.

Lil Buddy is a 9-month-old terrier mix. He is sweet, loving and energetic. He broke his back left leg and will be in a cast for six weeks. He has been at the San Martin Animal Shelter since December.
