Rafael Prado
Rafael Prado, a former Hollister resident, died Oct. 15, 2002 in Stockton. He was 66.
Mr. Pardo is survived by his wife, Evelia Prado, daughters Emma Moreno, Esther Castellanos, Lupe Gomez, Barbie Valdez, Luz Maria Prado and sons Rafael Prado, Antonio Prado, Juan Prado, mother Esperanza Prado, sisters Edelmira Avila Elena Maravilla, Elisa Salcedo, Esperanza Sanchez, Leticia Estrada, brothers Pedro Prado, Ramiro Prado, Bernardo Prado, Jose Prado and Ramon Prado.
Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Frisbee-Warren and Carol Mortuary, 809 N. California St., Stockton. The Rosary at 6 p.m. at Saint Jorges Catholic Church, 1663 East Main St. Burial will be held at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery in Stockton at noon on Friday. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.
William Albert Hastings
William Albert Hastings, who lived in both Morgan Hill and Hollister, died Oct. 12, 2002. He was 85.
Mr. Hastings was a retired building contractor who had worked in the Bay Area and near Merced. He was born in Arkansas and was a member of Thousand Trails and was a practitioner of the Science of Mind Church.
Mr. Hastings is survived by his spouse, Pearl Hastings of Hollister and Morgan Hill, children Gary Hastings, Chet Hastings, Doyle Hastings, William Hastings Jr. and Mitzi Billingsley, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives.
As was his request, arrangements for cremation and private inurnment are through Grunnagle Ament Nelson Crematory. No formal service is planned.
Roger D. Clark
Roger D. Clark, a WWII veteran and for many years a meat cutter for Nob Hill, died in San Juan Bautista on Oct. 10, 2002. He was 76.
Mr. Clark was born in New London, Wis., and moved to California in 1963. He settled in the South Valley in 1973. He enjoyed bowling and watching the Green Bay Packers. He was a member of Old Mission San Juan.
Mr. Clark was married to the late Sylvia D. Clark. He is survived by children Yvonne Garcia of Manteca, Roger M. Clark of Ventura, Mary L. Clark of San Juan Bautista, Phillip A. Clark of Gilroy, Emily O. Clark of Hollister and Patrick C. Clark of Santa Cruz. He also is survived by nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, siblings Mead DeWitt of Chicago, Patrick Clark of Chicago, Phillip Clark of Galt, and Loretta Clark of Auburn.
The rosary was Monday at Mission San Juan Bautista, followed by mass on Tuesday. Habing Family Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. The family would appreciate donations to the American Cancer Society.
Eva McClendon Caldwell
Eva Lee McClendon Caldwell died Oct. 12 in Hollister. She was 92.
Mrs. Caldwell was born in Mooreville, Tex., and moved to southern California in 1936. She became a resident of Hollister in 1997.
Mrs. Caldwell was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Caldwell, in 1958. She is survived by her children Roger Caldwell Arizona, daughter Marti Singleton of Hollister, Suzanne Sommerer of Sylmar, and two granddaughters.
Interment and committal services are today at 1 p.m. at Valhalla Memorial Park in North Hollywood.
