shut down a section of Highway 25 for nearly an hour Friday.

A local woman, whose name and age were not released by police, suffered a severe head injury and was transported by CalStar helicopter to a San Jose-area hospital.
Details on the accident were still unknown as investigators worked through witness statements, diagrams of the accident scene and physical evidence.
All that was known was that a black Nissan Maxima, driven by the injured motorist, struck the rear passenger side of a white Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme GL at the intersection of Wright Road and Highway 25.
The force of the collision caused both tires on the passenger side of the Oldsmobile to explode and the right rear tire to come off the axle. The older female driver in the Cutlass, whose name and age were not released by police, was not injured in the accident.
The Nissan reportedly skidded out of control and ran off the highway, coming to rest on a grassy slope next to the roadway.
Responding to the accident, which left shattered glass and other broken vehicle parts strewn across the highway, several motorists and others scrambled to the scene to offer aid.
“I just saw a car off the road so I came out here to help,” said Senior Pastor Bob Rufener with the Abundant Life Foursquare Church.
“When I got there, there was a woman leaning in the car supporting the driver’s head,” Rufener said.
Rufener was sitting in the receptionist’s office at the church when he looked out the window and saw the badly mangled Maxima on the side of the road and people rushing toward the vehicle.
Rufener said it was unfortunate anyone was injured in the accident.
“This isn’t the first time that this has happened,” Rufener said. “We’ve seen this happen before.”
Police said more information about the accident should be available later today.
