Dear Editor:
I appreciate Lynne Ladd’s letter of Feb. 26 and share her concern for our troops in harms way.
However, I am not so sure our soldiers protect my right to protest. After all, we did lose the war in Vietnam and we are still free. I really don’t think freedom is the issue here.
I do wish to remind her that it is not only our soldiers who are “in harms way,” but we all are “in harms way.” We are all vulnerable to unthinkable biological and nuclear attacks.
Our leadership needs to be dedicated to the control and elimination of such terrible weapons. We need to support and cooperate with international bodies. We need to aid the Third World. We need peace in the Middle East.
Peace after a war is not peace. It is only an interval between wars.
What a difference it would make if we had a peace monger for a president instead of a warmonger.
