With laughter, love and awkward moments, it’s easy to see why “The Affections of May” is Norm Foster’s most produced play. Pintello Comedy Theater has chosen the popular comedy by Canada’s most-produced playwright for its November production, with Rod Pintello directing. With the characters and storyline, this light-hearted romp strives to tickle your funny bone and make you feel right at home.
The play features Whitney Pintello as May Henning, trying to stay optimistic as her cranky husband walks out on her, her local banker pursues romantic advances and the handyman searches for a fresh start. The three men complicating May’s life are played by Peter Mandel, Jeff Patereau and Duane Holt, each a local actor with diverse theater experiences.
This play, the 44th production in Pintello Comedy Theater’s 13 years, opens Nov. 7 and runs Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m. through Nov. 29 at the historic Gilroy Grange Hall, 8191 Swanston Drive in Gilroy. One matinee performance will be presented at 2 p.m. Nov. 16.
