Editor,

We would like to thank Kathy Alvarez for trying to clear up the theatrical confusion. Yes, there are two theater companies in Hollister. Rainbow Theatre is a children’s community theater program operated through the city of Hollister for all the children.

All 129 children who auditioned for “Grease” were all cast as every child receives a part in every production ever produced by Rainbow Theatre. That sets us apart from any other community theater program. Last fall, Rainbow Theatre received the rights to perform “Grease” from Samuel French, Inc. Earlier This year we received a call from another group stating they were also performing “Grease.”

Samuel French, Inc. allows many non-professional productions of “Grease” at the same time (Monterey, Santa Cruz) as long as there are no professional “Grease” touring groups in the area. Rainbow Theatre would like to invite everyone to attend “Grease.” You will be presently surprised!
