Hollister police on Thursday arrested a suspect after he fled on foot and was tased, according to the Hollister Police Department.

Hollister Police Officer Erik Morris arrested Michael Anthony Farve, 42, of Hollister, following a traffic stop in the area of Hawkins Street and Prune Street. Morris initially stopped Farve for traffic violations and found that Farve’s driver license was suspended, police alleged in the press release. Further investigation determined that Farve was in possession of burglary tools and had a warrant for his arrest. As Morris began to place Farve in handcuffs, Farve fled on foot, according to police.

Other Hollister police officers responded to assist and Farve was taken into custody after a struggle in which officers had to use pepper spray and then a TASER. A bag suspected of containing crystal methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was found in the area where Farve had fled.

He was booked into the county jail on recommended charges of possessing burglary tools, possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia, being under the influence, resisting arrest, assaulting an officer and driving with a suspended license, according to police.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the watch commander at 636-4330. Persons wishing to remain anonymous may call WeTIP at (800) 78-CRIME.
