Vandalism

Vandals spray painted “Tula” and “559” in red on the side of a business in the 200 block of South Street in Hollister between 8pm Thursday and 8am Friday, the Hollister Police Department said. There are no suspects.

Burglaries

Burglars entered the work site of the Honda Powerhouse in the 400 block of San Felipe Road in Hollister between 5pm Friday and 12:58am Monday, police said. Burglars took a rollaway box of 3,200 feet of copper wire worth $5,000, police said. There are no suspects.

Arrests

Under the influence of a controlled substance

Steve S. Sequeira, 34, of the 8500 block of Lover’s Lane in Hollister, was arrested by the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, after deputies went to arrest another man in the 8500 block of Lover’s Lane in Hollister at 10:45am Friday, deputies said. Sequeira was allegedly under the influence and in possession of a methamphetamine smoking pipe, deputies said.

Cody Derosa, 28, of the 1100 block of Fairview Road in Hollister, was arrested by deputies on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, after a traffic stop at Nash Road and Cushman Street in Hollister at 11pm Friday, deputies said.

Daniel Patrick Kostielney, 25, of the 100 block of Falconi Way in Hollister, was arrested by deputies on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; possession of a controlled substance, a felony; and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, a misdemeanor; after a traffic stop at Nash Road and Cushman Street in Hollister at 11pm Friday, deputies said. Kostielney was allegedly in possession of an ink pen that had been cut open, burned and had methamphetamine residue in it, deputies said.

Drunk in public

Travis Darrell Naumann, 20, of the 1200 block of El Toro Drive in Hollister, was arrested by the Hollister Police Department on suspicion of being drunk in public, a misdemeanor, after officers found him in the 1500 block of Fairview Drive in Hollister at 10:06pm Friday, police said.

Resisting arrest

Arlet Picho, 26, of Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, after a traffic stop on Memorial Drive in Hollister at 11:19pm Friday, police said. Picho allegedly interfered with the traffic stop and got in and out of the vehicle, police said.

Selling alcohol to a minor

Bahader Sadhra, who works at G & J Liquors on San Felipe Road in Hollister, was cited on suspicion of selling alcohol to a minor, a misdemeanor, after an officer found two 20-year-olds allegedly walking out of the store with a Natural Light box filled with three 40-ounce Mickey’s, one 40-ounce Bud Light and one 40-ounce Miller Genuine Draft at 8:25pm Saturday, police said. Sadhra was cited and released, police said.

Drug possession

Andrew Joseph Bettencourt, 24, of Watsonville, was arrested by police on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, a felony, after officers stopped him in on El Toro Drive at 10:04pm Saturday, police said. Bettencourt allegedly had .38 grams of methamphetamine, police said.

Driving under the influence

Jose Sumaya, 20, of the 600 block of Madera Court in Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after officers pulled him over in the 700 block of Monterey Street in Hollister at 12:08am Friday, police said.

Adolfo Illu, 22, of Dos Palos, was arrested by police on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after officers pulled him over in the 700 block of Monterey Street in Hollister at 12:08am Friday, police said.

Galindo Ruiz Dominguez, 30, of the 900 block of Somme Avenue in Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after deputies turned him over to officers at the intersection of Seventh and Monterey Streets in Hollister at 1:15am Saturday, police said.

Georgina Bocanegra, 40, of the 1000 block of Hillcrest Road in Hollister, was arrested by police on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, after officers pulled her over at Memorial Drive and Meridian Street in Hollister at 11:30pm Saturday, police said.

Teofilo Salinas Garcia, 22, of the 7400 block of Rogers Lane in Gilroy, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on suspicion of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, and driving with a suspended license, a misdemeanor, after officers pulled him over on Highway 25 north of Shore Road at 2:18am Saturday, according to the CHP.

All those named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
