suspects causing a disturbance.
ARRESTS

Carry or conceal a dirk or dagger, Rustic Street

At 10:30 p.m. on Friday, police were dispatched to the area of Rustic Street and Santa Ana Road for a report of two intoxicated suspects causing a disturbance. Police said the suspects, a 40-year-old transient male and a 52-year-old transient female, have been reported multiple times over the past week for being drunk or being aggressive panhandlers. Upon contact, the suspects showed objective signs of being intoxicated. The female could hardly stand and when police contacted her and the male suspect, who was across the street, began yelling and screaming. Police searched him and found a large bladed hatchet in his jacket and a four-inch dirk in his pants pocket. He was being uncooperative with police and continued to be until police almost tasered the man. After that, the man agreed to comply, was arrested and booked into the county jail.

Burglary, Flynn Road

At the county jail, the 40-year-old male transient was searched and found to be in possession of three identification card that did not belong to him, but to a man who was in the jail. Jail workers contacted the victim who said his house had been broken into while he was incarcerated. The 52-year-old transient female was also found to be in possession of other stolen property including men’s and women’s clothing, a Rolex watch, necklaces and jewelry. Both parties were charged with possession of stolen property.

Robbery, Rancho Drive

At 5:50 p.m. on Friday, a female Rancho San Justo student stepped outside of a dance at the school on the 1200 block of Rancho Drive. The victim was approached by a male juvenile and female juvenile, who poked the victim in the upper arm with a razor blade or box cutter. The female suspect then made some racial comments, asked if the victim had a phone and took it from her. The victim then asked for the phone back and offered money for the phone. The suspects took the money and gave the phone back. After the incident, the victim identified the suspects through the yearbook. Police contacted the female suspect who gave the money back. She was also found to be in possession of a blade. She was arrested and charged with robbery, possession of a razor blade on school grounds and a hate crime enhancement and booked into juvenile hall.

CRIMINAL COMPLAINTS

Reckless driving, Line Street

At 4:21 p.m. on Thursday, police were dispatched to the area of Fifth Street and San Benito Street on the report of a reckless vehicle. While en route, a witness reported seeing the same vehicle on the 500 block of Line Street, where the driver and passenger were in some sort of altercation. The 42-year-old Hollister male driver ran three stoplights, swerved around other drivers, failed to stop at a stop sign and was also speeding. The suspect was cited for reckless driving.

Theft, Calistoga Drive

At 5:56 p.m. on Sunday, a license plate was reported stolen off of a vehicle on the 2100 block of Calistoga Drive. Police said that the theft occurred sometime between Friday night and Saturday afternoon. No suspect information was available.

Battery on person, Recht Street

At 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, a taxi driver was dispatched to the 300 block of Recht Street for a fare. When the driver came to the door of the residence, the person who answered the door struck him in the face. Police said there was no information saying both parties knew each other and said alcohol may have been involved. The suspect, a 31-year-old Hollister, man was cited and released.
