Alberto Mungia Cervantes

On Thursday morning, Hollister police arrested a 26-year-old Hollister man – found with a firearm, large knife and drugs – on suspicion of related charges.

At about 8:30 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the Save Mart parking lot, 291 McCray Street, on a “call of an unconscious man in a white car parked in the Savemart parking lot.”

Police approached the man in a white sedan and initially could not wake him, according to police.

According to a statement from police:

The man eventually woke up and appeared lethargic and confused. He identified himself as Alberto Mungia Cervantes (26). Officer Rodriguez began an investigation and eventually determined Cervantes was in possession of weapons and narcotics. Cervantes had a concealed large knife on his person as well as a handgun underneath the driver’s seat. Several bindles of narcotics and drug paraphernalia were also located in the vehicle.
Cervantes was transported to the San Benito County Jail where he was booked for possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of concentrated cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a concealed dagger, carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.
