Three Gilroy residents and another two from San Jose face charges of human trafficking; abduction for prostitution; false imprisonment; kidnapping for sexual assault; as well as attempted pimping and pandering after the suspects allegedly kidnapped an 18-year-old woman at gunpoint Thursday in the area of Compton, according to a press release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Khalid Binhajjyahyaabdulmalik, 23; Abubakr Horrington, 32; and Jerry Landers, 21; from Gilroy, along with Ibrahim Binhajjyahyaabdulmalik, 25; and Ana Ceja, 20; of San Jose, were reportedly armed with a semi-automatic handgun when they kidnapped the victim, whose identify is being withheld by authorities. Following the abduction, the suspects drove the victim to an undisclosed location, where she was sexually assaulted by two of the five suspects, the press release states.
According to authorities, “the victim was then told (that the suspects) were going to force her to conduct prostitution for money.”
The young woman was driven to a hotel in Moreno Valley where her alleged kidnappers had “rented a hotel room for these prostitution acts to occur,” police say.
Before the prostitution acts began, however, the suspects became distracted and the victim had a chance to flee and summon help, according to police. At about 4:44 p.m. Friday, officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department received a report of a disturbance at the hotel, located at 24800 Elder Ave. Authorities arrived at the scene and were able to stop the suspects as they attempted to flee in their vehicle, the press release states. All five suspects were taken into custody and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside.
