Rainstorm in Hollister

Two outages nixed power for many Hollister customers Saturday, but at least some of the power has been restored.

With the rainstorm Saturday, Pacific Gas & Electric reported an array of outages in the region, but none bigger than the ones affecting Hollister largely affecting the southern portion of the city. 

Power went out in areas of Hollister at about 11 a.m. and was restored to some customers by around 12:45 p.m.

The PG&E website reported two outages affecting between 500 and 4,999 customers.

There were also smaller outages in Gilroy and Morgan Hill, with PG&E reporting each city having up to 49 customers affected.

The following is the National Weather Service forecast for Hollister:

This Afternoon: Showers. High near 61. Breezy, with a west southwest wind around 22 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce small hail. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 41. West wind between 9 and 18 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 62. Northwest wind between 9 and 11 mph.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 38. West wind between 5 and 13 mph.
