Dear Editor,
Winning is not always everything in life, as I found to be ever so true after this past election. It’s hard to describe or put into words how proud I am of my dad for putting his life on hold to run for District 2 supervisor and for the way he conducted himself through this long campaign process.
Knocking on doors for the past 12 months took courage and guts, which cannot be measured by the amount of votes he received last Tuesday. When you put your heart and soul into something you believe in as he did, you should be commended immensely.
He ran for supervisor not because he was forced to, but because he really wants to help make a difference. His passion to become a voice for the people came from his heart and those who took the time to listen to him know how passionate he really is about making this a better community for all residents.
I am sorry to all the constituents in District 2, because I feel they are the real losers in this last election, by not having the opportunity to have such an honest, hard working man such as Anthony Freitas to be their next supervisor. Fortunately for me, I still have him as my father.
I want to thank my dad for running in this election and teaching me what’s really important in life.
Manny Freitas, San Juan Bautista
