A flu vaccine is prepared during a free clinic at the Veterans Memorial Building.

The San Benito County Public Health Department is now hosting a free flu clinic Jan. 8 at the Veterans Memorial Building, according to an announcement posted online by the Hollister Police Department. 

The vaccine clinic is for residents ages 6 months and older and is set for 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Jan. 8 at the Veterans Memorial Building, 649 San Benito St.

The public health department said it encourages residents to get flu vaccines early from doctors or pharmacies. The agency spokeswoman could not be reached immediately for more details on the event.
