Students play at Mr. O's.

Organizers hoping to develop a low-power community radio station in San Benito County are hosting an informational meeting next week.
A meeting and potluck dinner are scheduled for 6 p.m. Nov. 25 at Mr. O’s Academy of the Arts, 360 Sixth St., to hear about progress and goals along with participation of more volunteers.
The station, with call letters KQKE, is a volunteer-based effort for a non-commercial radio station that already received approval from the Federal Communications Commission earlier this year, according to an announcement from the group.
It is a project overseen by Community Media Access Partnership, which is contributing money and the building and equipping the station, to be run by volunteers. The goal is to have broadcasting, podcasting and streaming on the Internet within the next six months, according to the announcement.
