County plans to address Cienega Road conditions

A local resident recently criticized the conditions on Cienega Road, stretching from Union Road all the way past the Thousand Trails RV park. The local reader said there were many deep potholes on that road.

County public works official Arman Nazemi responded to the complaint and noted that the county has a pothole machine and that crews have a “daily routine” of addressing known potholes.

“I just need to find out where that (road) falls on the schedule, and when we’ll be around to cover those areas,” Nazemi said, adding that workers cover “miles of roads” per day.

He noted that “hazardous” areas get the highest priority, but said the county would address Cienega Road soon.

“In the meantime, I’ll go ahead and send somebody out and see what’s going on,” he said.

Nazemi said the county wants to know about potholes and poor road conditions, and residents should call (831) 636-4170.
