It is once again that time – candidate signs have been cropping up around San Benito County.
With an array of races on the June primary ballot – the most prominent being three openings on the board of supervisors, in Districts 1, 2 and 5 – the signs are showing an increasing presence.
A residents wanted to know if they were following the rules, and it turns out they are, at least regarding timing before the election.
The first day allowed, 90 days before the election, was March 7, according to the elections office. They have to be removed within 10 days after of the June 5 primary.
Aside from timing, the candidates also are barred from placing signs on public property. They can place them on private property with permission of owners.
