Two people were injured in a motorcycle accident involving a deer on Highway 25 near Pinnacles National Monument late Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol’s online reporting database.

The accident was reported at 11:34 a.m. on Highway 25 – or Airline Highway – near La Gloria Road just north of Pinnacles.

A motorcycle hit a deer, and the CHP initially had reported one of the riders was in the roadway needing assistance, according to the report.

The CHP reported that the involved parties were airlifted to a hospital, but their conditions are unclear.

Neither CHP nor Calfire spokesmen could be reached for comment.
