San Juan Bautista – Since the controversial firing of City Manager Larry Cain two weeks ago, the San Juan Bautista City Council is actively recruiting for a new city manager to take control of the Mission City’s affairs.

A job description for a new city manager was posted on the city’s Web site today, and includes such attributes of providing strong leadership and communicating well with council members and the public, according to Councilman Charles Geiger.

“We’re not looking for a Renaissance Man. We want someone who understands our community and is willing to work with us,” Geiger said. “There have already been people in the community who have an interest in the job – locals, which is interesting.”

Geiger hopes to have someone behind the city’s administrative helm by mid-May, he said.
