Riley Davis Murrill was born Sept. 23, 2007 to parents Jennifer and Michael Murrill of Morgan Hill. Riley weighed 9 pounds, 8 ounces.

Adrian Vasquez

Adrian Vasquez was born Nov. 28, 2007 at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital in Hollister to parents Diana Lopez and Adrian Vasquez of Hollister. He weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces.

HONORS

Kimberly Munguia

Kimberly L. Munguia graduated from Officer Candidate School (OCS) Phase III training at North Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash., and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army National Guard.

Officer candidates are tested and evaluated in leadership skills and team work abilities required of a commissioned officer. Students utilize acquired skills to function in “leader and follower” positions in squad and platoon-sized elements in a stressful and demanding field environment involving various tactical situations.

Munguia was formerly a readiness supervisor with the California Army National Guard, Modesto. She has served in the military for 15 years.

She is the daughter of David G. Jackson of Coffee Road, Modesto. Her husband, Jose, is the son of Antonio Munguia, and Elvira Munguia, both of Hollister.

Sabin Maharjan

Army Reserve Pvt. Sabin Maharjan has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.

He is the son of Juju Maharjan of Gilroy and a 2006 graduate of Gilroy High School.
