ENGAGEMENTS: Sanidad/Gallardo: Cristina Elise Sanidad and Emmanuel Gallardo are engaged to be married.
Cristina, daughter of Dan and Mary Ann Sanidad of Morgan Hill, received a bachelor’s degree in sociology and ethnic studies from Santa Clara University and a master’s degree in social justice and human rights from Arizona State University. She is a paralegal at The Law Offices of Lubin and Enoch.
Emmanuel, son of Efren and Francisca Gallardo of Phoenix, received a bachelor’s degree in secondary education with an emphasis in Spanish and a certificate in structured English immersion from from Arizona State University. He is a community organizer with Central Arizonans for a Sustainable Economy (CASE).
The couple is planning a May 24, 2014 wedding in Phoenix.
Perrien/Donnelly
Stacey Perrien and Shawn Donnelly are engaged to be married.
Stacey, daughter of Don and Danette Perrien of Hollister, graduated from San Benito High School.
Shawn, son of Ron Donnelly of Hollister and Carol Floyd of Newark, graduated from San Benito High School.
The couple is planning a Sept. 14, 2013 wedding in Monterey.

Local Gavilan College students make honor roll
The following local Gavilan College students earned a place on the President’s Honor Roll for the spring semester 2013. To be placed on the President’s Honor roll, a student must earn a 3.5 or higher grade point average in at least 15 units during a single semester. This honor is noted on students’ transcripts.

Grace Cardinalli
Grace Cardinalli was named Gavilan College’s Employee of the Month for June 2013. She is the executive assistant for John Pruitt, Vice President of Student Services, and has been with Gavilan College since 2005.
Grace handles challenges with “grace under pressure.” Her customer service skills are excellent, she cares deeply for the students, taking an interest in their needs and concerns and helping them navigate the system. She is John’s right-hand person (and for a while she was literally his right hand person when he had his arm in a sling). She represents him and his office with professionalism. She is also an amazing party planner and event coordinator and works tirelessly to ensure that these special events go off without a hitch. She is the quintessential team player – always willing to pitch in and help wherever needed.
Shiloh Burns
Air Force Airman Shiloh K. Burns graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Burns is the daughter of Melanie Spremich and granddaughter of Kathryn Burns, both of Hollister. She graduated from a homeschool program in 2009.
Tiyana Rogers
Tiyana Rogers, of Gilroy, is one of 629 students who made the dean’s list at California Lutheran University for the spring semester. Rogers is majoring in biology. Students qualify by maintaining a 3.6 grade point average in their academic subjects.
CLU is a selective university located in Thousand Oaks, with centers in Oxnard, Woodland Hills and Santa Maria for graduate courses and its Adult Degree Evening Program.
