HONORS
Katelynn Moeller
Air Force Airman Katelynn Moeller graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas, Oct. 4, 2013.
The Airman completed an intensive eight week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate degree in applied science degree through The Community College of The Air Force. Moeller earned honor graduate by graduating in the top 10 percent of her class and was named Guidon Bearer for Flight No. 594.
She is the daughter of Gregg and Heather Moeller and is a graduate of San Benito high school class 2010.
Taryn Wright
Taryn Wright, of Hollister, is a new junior member of the American Angus Association.
Junior members of the Association are eligible to register cattle in the American Angus Association, participate in programs conducted by the National Junior Angus Association and take part in Association-sponsored shows and other national and regional events.
Jason Allen
Army Pvt. Jason A. Allen has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.
Allen is the son of Patrick and Jacqueline Fancher of Hollister and a 2005 graduate of San Benito High School.
Brian Arevalo
Army Pfc. Brian D. Arevalo has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

Arevalo is the son of Otoniel and Maria Arevalo of Hollister and a 2012 graduate of San Benito High School.
Aurelio Hernandez
Aurelio Ordonez Hernandez received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Columbia State University on Dec. 9, 2013.Â
Aurelio is is a graduate of R.O. Hardin Elementary School, Rancho San Justo Middle School and a 2004 graduate of San Benito High School. He is the son of Anna Ordonez Hernandez, of Hollister, and Ampelio Hernandez, of Judsonia, Ark. He is the eldest brother of Athena Hernandez, of Moraga, and Nicolas, Alexander and Maxx Hernandez, all of Hollister.
Aurelio attended SJSU from 2004 to 2008 and studied math and worked as a mechanical engineer in the Silicon Valley from 2006 to 2008 before enlisting in the Army Reserves and moving to Columbus, Ga. Aurelio is a combat engineer at Fort Benning, Ga. where he lives with his wife Cecilia, a vet tech in the Army, and their 2-year-old daughter Liliana.
Aurelio’s mom and four siblings traveled to Georgia to attend the graduation ceremony, as did his father. Aurelio plans to pursue a master’s degree in mechanical engineering at Texas A&M.

Arianna Ceja was born Nov. 8, 2013 at Saint Louise Regional Hospital to Victoria Gutierrez and Arturo Ceja of Hollister. She weighed 6 pounds, 1 ounce.
