Juan Arteaga

HONORS: Juan Arteaga: Juan Arteaga, of Gilroy, recently graduated from the Sacramento Campus of Universal Technical Institute (UTI), the leading provider of post-secondary education for students seeking careers as professional automotive, diesel, collision repair, motorcycle and marine technicians.
Arteaga attended Gilroy High School before completing the Automotive and Ford FACT Technology Training Program at UTI. Arteaga received Student of the Course (SOC) honors and was on the director’s list.
Taylor Hix
Taylor Hix, of Morgan Hill, was named to the dean’s honor roll for the fall 2013 semester at Oklahoma City University. Students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours during a semester to meet the requirements and maintain a GPA of 3.5.
Oklahoma City University is a coeducational, urban private university located in Oklahoma City.
Tayler Martinez
Tayler Martinez, of Gilroy, was named to the fall semester dean’s list at Linfield College. In order to be named to the list, students must complete 12 graded credits and be in the top 10 percent of their class.
Joshua Zimmerman
Air National Guard Airman Joshua R. Zimmerman graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate’s degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Zimmerman is a 2004 graduate of Gilroy High School.
Emma Peatfield
Emma Peatfield, of Morgan Hill, has earned placement on the Gonzaga University dean’s list for fall semester 2013. Students must earn a 3.5 to 3.69 grade-point average to be listed.
Gonzaga University is a humanistic, private Catholic University providing a Jesuit education to more than 7,500 students near downtown Spokane, Wash.

Matthew Scott Rickard
Matthew Scott Rickard was born Nov. 26, 2013 at Kaiser San Jose to Danielle and Don Rickard of Morgan Hill. He weighed 7.1 pounds.
