HONORS: Caitlyn Pierotti: Caitlyn “Cat” Pierotti was recently honored at Kentucky State University with the Outstanding Seniors in Journalism Award along with making Dean’s List (Spring/Fall).
Caitlyn also received All Tournament Honors for her Accomplishments in Softball (NCAA Division II) this year. She has worked hard at playing the catcher’s position since the age of 11, which is when her Little League coach, James “JW” Wilkins, asked permission to “groom” her as a catcher. She is also a former intern of the Gilroy Dispatch.
Caitlyn graduated May 4 with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications in journalism, with an emphasis in public relations. In attendance were her mom Camille Reimal and step-dad Larry, dad Matt Pierotti, grandmother Paula Pierotti and grandparents Evelyn and Joseph Vassale.
Sara Turner Morimoto
Sara Turner Morimoto, of Morgan Hill, has graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering. She was also a member of the equestrian team.
Sara is the daughter of Susan Turner and Warren Morimoto.
Sean Brendle
Army Pvt. Sean T. Brendle has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
Brendle is the son of Tom Brendle of Gilroy and a 2011 graduate of Gilroy High School.
