Dequin announced Monday afternoon that Osuna, a freshman out of
Anchorpoint Christian High School, along with sophomore Nicole
Lobato, a Salinas High alum, received first team All-Coast
Conference South accolades.

Dequin announced Monday afternoon that Osuna, a freshman out of Anchorpoint Christian High School, along with sophomore Nicole Lobato, a Salinas High alum, received first team All-Coast Conference South accolades.

“It is well deserved,” Dequin said.
Three other Rams earned end-of-the-year recognition. Shayna Osuna was awarded second team All-Conference, while Gilroy High alum Kristy Pineda and Live Oak grad Stephanie Doting earned spots on the honorable mention list.
Finding her stroke at the plate in the latter half of the season, Adrianna Osuna, who served as the Rams’ everyday third baseman, compiled a .258 batting average, including three home runs, nine doubles and 17 RBI. Playing in 37 of Gavilan’s 40 games, Osuna struck out just 10 times in 120 at-bats
Lobato, who also finished runner-up for Pitcher of the Year, hit .298 with 10 doubles and 26 RBI. In the circle, she started 26 of the Rams’ 36 outings this season, finishing with a 17-8 record and the conference’s second-stingiest earned-run average of 2.06. Lobato surrendered just 70 earned runs and struck out 185 in 199 innings pitched.
Appearing in 29 games, Shayna Osuna collected a .310 batting average in 84 plate appearances for the Rams, knocking in 10 runs. Pineda, the backbone of the Rams defense behind the dish, participated in all 40 games, posting a .235 average with 17 RBI and 18 walks. Doting hit .227 and scored 14 times in 40 games.
The Rams wrapped up their 2010-11 campaign last Wednesday, dropping a 4-2 nod to Cabrillo. The loss prevented the Rams from making their fourth straight postseason appearance, concluding the year 19-21 overall and 8-9 in the Coast Conference.
