Residents, meanwhile, will have a chance to see the show, meet the artist and enjoy some music and food at the San Benito County Arts Council’s First Fridays Artist Reception. It is set for 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 6, next Friday.
The gallery is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays, and then Thursdays to Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m., along with by appointment.
According to a statement from the arts council:
Presented by the San Benito County Arts Council, “Lost in Reverie” is a collection of figurative and landscape paintings and drawings which explore the state of reverie or being lost in open-ended reflection, contemplation and study. Pieces included in this show examine solitude, the revelation of the internal self and one’s connection to the physical world. This show was inspired by a period of growth and transition, in which the artist was at a juncture of old endings and new beginnings and found herself lost in reverie quite often.
This exhibition is part of the San Benito County Arts Council’s mission to promote art and culture in San Benito County and is made possible by Jim and Deborah Wood, as well as funds from the California Arts Council and Community Foundation for San Benito County.
