Editor,

My name is Sarah Heredia, and I am responding to your article concerning deaths at Hollister Hills.

My cousin Aaron Michael Smith died at Hollister Hills on Feb. 12th 2005. He had just gotten his dirt bike about two weeks before his death. He was riding at high speed when he lost control and hit a tree. It was very congested that day, and it had been raining a couple days before so it was very muddy.

My issue is that these riders aren’t forced to take riding hours. It is forced with a driver’s license as well with a motorcycle. These kids need to be aware of the dangers of dirt bike riding. Let my cousin Aaron as well as the other deaths be perfect examples of the tragedies of this extreme sport.

Please help me with my concern. Something needs to be changed, and I will not rest until something is done.
