Sharkie and the Mobile Shark Tank to be a part of YMCA’s Healthy
Kids Day in Hollister on April 25.
The YMCA has also introduced a new program of indoor soccer for
those in grades 6-8.

Barnstormers down Lawmen, improve to 3-1
The Central Coast Barnstormers improved to 3-1 last Saturday in the Northern California Football League when they defeated the Nor Cal Lawmen 24-12 in Pittsburg.
The victory allows the Barnstormers to keep pace within the National Conference South Division, which currently has three teams with matching 3-1 records, including the Salinas Spartans and the California Warriors of San Jose.
The South Bay Stallions, of Atherton, are 1-3.
Central Coast will visit the Stallions on Saturday at Menlo Atherton High School. Kick-off is at 1:30 p.m.
Garcia signs with Raiders
Jeff Garcia won’t be returning to play for the San Francisco 49ers, but his career has come full circle.
The Gilroy native and NFL quarterback confirmed he signed a one-year contract Monday to return to the Bay Area and play for the Oakland Raiders next season.
The plan is for the 39-year-old signal-caller to serve as backup and mentor to former No. 1 draft pick JaMarcus Russell.
Big Sur International Marathon slated for April 26 along Hwy. 1 to Carmel
The Big Sur International Marathon will take place along Hwy. 1 from Big Sur to Carmel on Sunday, April 26. Six race categories include the marathon, marathon relay, 21-, 10.6- and 9-mile races as well as a 5K. Spectator viewing is easily accessible at the “Marathon Village” area at Rio Road and Highway One.
On Saturday, the Just Run! Just Kids 3K will take place at the Cannery Row area and along Pacific Grove coastline to Lover’s Point beginning at 8 a.m.
