The Starbucks in Hollister is hoping to get a jolt in business by moving to a new, larger location.
Starbucks has submitted plans to the city for a pending move into the standalone building at Airline Highway and Plaza Drive—in the Nob Hill shopping center across from Burger King—and away from the location in the strip mall in the same area.
Starbucks will use the former Union Bank location, and its drive-thru, at the corner of the busy intersection, confirmed Planner Jill Morales with the Hollister Planning Department.
The building is 5,040 square feet, while the structure will be split into two units and Starbucks intends to use slightly less than half of the site, Morales said.
Aside from the drive-thru, it will include an outdoor seating area, multiple restrooms and spaces for 30 or so seating areas inside, she said while looking at the submitted floor plan in the planning application.
“It’s a lot larger than what’s there now,” she said of the existing Starbucks location.
While a specific timeline is unclear, Morales expects to have more concrete information about the move in the next couple of weeks.
“They were just hoping as soon as possible,” she said.
Starbucks has yet to submit plans to the city building division, which would issue any related building permits.
