Hollister – The Taco Bell at 431 Tres Pinos Rd. has been closed for remodeling since Sept. 4, but locals can still get their fix of Mexican fast food at the restaurant’s drive-thru.

Manager Paula Travasso said fewer customers than expected have been swinging by.

“They might not know that we’re here,” she said.

The remodeling project is slated to continue until late October, Travasso said.

But it’s completely separated from food preparation. In fact, there’s a wall dividing the construction zone and the kitchen.

“The kitchen is well-protected from sawdust,” she said.

And when the store reopens in a month, it will feature several new additions, including a taller exterior, brickwork outside and more booths.

“It’s going to be completely different,” Travasso said.

She added that she’s not aware of any plans to remodel the Taco Bell at 40 San Felipe Road.
