San Benito’s top pairing in Kyle Skinner and Eric Johnson defeated Josh Eno and Praveen Sinhe 6-3, 6-2; Brian Becerra and Sunny Singh did the same to Reunit Grewel and Taylor Melody 6-0, 6-1; and Jacob and Andrew Panger completed the sweep with a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Sobrato’s Adarsh Cherra and Adrian Quintena.
The Bulldogs picked up their lone wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, where Khazema Kaeralleh narrowly defeated Baler Nick Trillo 6-2, 6-7 and 7-6 (11-9) in the third-set tiebreaker, and Mitchell Pasek topped Geoff Muzik 6-3, 6-3.
The Balers scored two wins of their own in singles, however. No. 4 singles player Alex Reilly defeated Michael Lee 6-2, 7-5, and San Benito’s top singles player Jacob Garcia earned his first win of the season with a 6-3, 6-4 victory against Tyler Pecsock.
The win improves San Benito to 2-1 on the early season. The Balers will play in their third match in as many days today, Thursday, when they will travel to Salinas to take on Palma.
