The San Benito High girls tennis team rolled past host North Salinas 7-0 on Thursday, cruising to a quick victory in which the Lady Balers won 84 games to the Vikings’ 10.

The convincing win improves San Benito to 2-1 in the Tri-County Athletic League and 5-4 overall. The match also concludes a tennis-heavy week for the Lady Balers, which had matches against Monterey, Alisal, Aptos and North Salinas during a four-day stretch.

San Benito went 3-1 in those four matches.

On Thursday, the tone was set in singles, where the Lady Balers nearly held the Vikings scoreless.

No. 1 Hayley Barker beat Renee Musgrove 6-0, 6-1; No. 2 Rachel Smith topped Rosa Perez 6-0, 6-1; No. 3 Kristina Slavich defeated Amanda Porrez 6-0, 6-1; and No. 4 Audrey Marshall silenced Winnie Chin 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, Vanessa Casalegno and Chelsea Yoakum upended Rachel Wilkins and Brenda Santana 6-0, 6-1; No. 2 Erin Glasspool and Alex Triolo won 6-3, 6-1 over Selena Ramirez and Denise Santos; and rounding out the team was Alex Garcia and Danielle Dube, who defeated Leann Harden and Helen Jin 6-2, 6-0.

San Benito will return to the court on Tuesday at the Ridgemark Golf and Country Club in Hollister. The Lady Balers will host Everett Alvarez at 4 p.m.
