“The Flying Karamazov Brothers” present an outrageous, hilarious blend of music, comedy, dance, theatre and juggling. They do not fly, they are not brothers and they are not Russian, but they do invite the audience into their zany world. They took their name from Fyodor Dostoevsky’s Russian tragedy “The Brothers Karamazov.” Why? Don’t ask. It just goes along with their serendipitous antics.

The event, “The Flying Karamazov Brothers – 40 years of Wandering, Juggling and Cheap Theatrics” (this is the title) features a troupe of goofy men in kilts and tutus where almost anything that goes up and down is thrown into the act. They are celebrating their 40th anniversary of keeping everything unusual and imaginable afloat.

The “Flying Karamazov Brothers” were conceived in 1973 at a Renaissance Faire in Santa Cruz, and went on to win awards and was performed in theatres around the world. They have appeared in television, movies and on Broadway.

This extravaganza is really something to be seen rather than described. For off the wall, spectacular entertainment, “The Flying Karamazov Brothers” are it. And, oh yes, bring the kids – but hang on to them. They just might end up being juggled in the act.
